Many of these works are built on a centred form: an orbit, a sphere, a single opening in a field of colour. Inside a square, that structure becomes almost architectural.

WHAT A SQUARE CHANGES

Four equal sides.
One centred decision.

Equal sides forgive small errors. A square centred over a console or a bed looks intentional even when the wall itself is slightly off, which is rarely true of a wide rectangle. It also carries weight in a compact footprint, so it suits the wall between two doors, the space above a low sideboard and the short wall of an open plan.

Two squares of a similar size read as a considered pairing rather than a matched set. Each work stays an independent original, and the shared geometry does the rest of the work.

Leave roughly a hand's width between the top of the furniture and the bottom of the frame, and centre the work on the furniture rather than on the wall.
